Dr. Pruett grew up in Lake County, Florida, graduating from Mt. Dora High School. He then attended Marshall University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree Majoring in Chemistry, while also playing football for the Thundering Herd. Dr. Pruett went on to complete his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. During his time at UFCD, Dr. Pruett received awards for outstanding performance in the science of Occlusion and Temporomandibular Joint Function, Dental Implantology, Leadership and Professional Conduct, Dental Laboratory Technology and Patient Care in Prosthodontics. While in private practice Dr. Pruett has continued his educational commitment to comprehensive dental care by training at the prestigious Pankey Institute, completing their entire series of advanced continuums. These courses include the foundational concepts of a comprehensive exam process, the study of Occlusion for the functional fitment of opposing teeth, the TemporoMandibular Joints (TMJ) including variations in joint anatomy and movement, Facial Musculature as it relates to chewing and function, Patient Management with an emphasis on relationship building and anxiety management, and dental Aesthetic principles that emphasize natural beauty.
Dr. Pruett is a member of the Lake County Dental Society, Central Florida District Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of the American College of Dentists, and Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Pruett has represented the Lake County Dental Society as a Delegate to the Florida Dental Association House of Delegates, participated on various FDA committees for the betterment of the dental profession, completed the FDA leadership program and served as president of the Central Florida District Dental Association, encompassing Alachua, Brevard, Orange, Lake, Marion, Volusia, and Flagler Counties.
Dr. Pruett has contributed dental insight for numerous national publications to include Yahoo News, Live Science, Medical Daily, News Medical, MSN, Prevention Magazine, SELF Magazine, Bustle, The Bump, and Huffington Post.

Outside of Dentistry Dr. Pruett enjoys traveling, coaching basketball, attending his daughter’s theater performances, playing golf, wake surfing, snow skiing, flying and most importantly spending time with his wife Heather, son Kycen, daughter Sadie Grace, and dogs Pax and Sasha.
